Héctor Velázquez Fernández

Technological Society and Human Future Center of the Humanities

Professor of History and Philosophy of Science, and Philosophy of Nature, for almost 30 years. He has published more than 100 academic texts (books, chapters, articles, translations). He has been visiting professor or invited lecturer at universities in Latin America, the United Kingdom, and Europe.

Winner of the Science and Religion Award from the Center for Theology and Natural Sciences, Berkeley, CA, the Latin American Perspectives on Science and Religion Project Research Fellowship (Ian Ramsey Center, University of Oxford), and the Scholarship and Christianity at Oxford.

He has been director of the Center for Technological Society and Human Future, of the Universidad Mayor, in Chile. He is currently researching the impact of science and technology on human beings and society.
